Our Story
New Plainview Baptist Church has roots that go back over 160 years. Founded in 1863, we are one of the oldest churches in Haralson County. For generations, this church has been a place where people have gathered to hear God’s Word and worship him.
But there was a season not long ago when it looked like that history might come to an end. New Plainview had dwindled to just a handful of members. The doors could have closed, and nobody outside our small community would have noticed. Most churches that reach that point don’t come back.

But God was not finished with New Plainview. He sent the right people at the right time. Families began to show up, and the church began to have life again. It happened because God is faithful and because a small group of people were willing to hold on and let him work.
Today, New Plainview is a healthy, growing church committed to the Word of God, to one another, and to making the gospel known in Haralson County. We are not a perfect church. But we have seen what God can do with a handful of willing people, and we look forward to what he has in store.
Our story is really his story. A God who brings life out of death, who builds his church when there seems to be nothing left to build on, and who is faithful to finish what he starts.
