Our Priorities
The most important thing about New Plainview is not what makes us distinct. It’s what we share in common with every true church. But every congregation has its own voice, and these priorities are the heartbeat of ours.
A Clear Gospel
If we get this wrong, nothing else matters. We start every service by declaring the gospel because we never want it to become background noise. The gospel is not something we move past as we grow. It is something we move deeper into. The good news that Jesus Christ lived a perfect life, died for our sins, and rose from the dead is the foundation of everything we do, and we intend to keep it there.
Biblical Preaching
The preaching at New Plainview is expository. That means we open a book of the Bible and preach through it line by line, passage by passage, letting the text set the agenda. This is more than a preference. It is a conviction. We believe that it is God’s words, not our own ideas, that transform lives. Our people need to hear the full range of what God has to say, and we are committed to giving them that.
Intentional Worship
Our worship is congregational. We have musicians, but their role is to support the singing of the church, not to perform. The whole congregation is the worship team. We sing hymns and modern songs that are biblically faithful, theologically rich, and singable. We are not trying to put on a show. We are trying to worship the living God together with Christ-exalting, God-glorifying music.
Genuine Community
Following Jesus is not a solo endeavor. At New Plainview, you are going to be known. You are going to be cared for. We take membership seriously, not as a name on a roll, but as a commitment to love and be loved, to serve and be served, to look after one another and be looked after. This church is not a building you attend. It is a family you belong to.
